Cascade Community Youth Theatre is committed to giving young people in grades 3-8 the opportunity to learn and express themselves through the dramatic arts. We provide theatre experiences with plays, musical productions, and training classes in acting and technical production skills. Youth theatre students are also able to participate as cast and crew in community productions.

2011/2012 Youth Program

Welcome to Cascade Community Theatre’s Youth Theatre Program!

We have several wonderful opportunities for young actors and actors-to –be. For the the 2011-2012 season, we are have our Elementary School Program, designed for 3^rd through 5^th graders, and our Middle School Program , for 6^th through 8^th grade students.

The Elementary School Program will be directed by Mike Smith, and the production for this year will be “The Robin Hood Files” by Phil Tuffin. Rehearsal dates are from the first week of January till mid-March, and the performances during the third week of March.

The Middle School Program will be directed by Chuck Young, and the students will be learning the characters, songs and choreography for CCT’s late Spring production of “Oliver!”. Rehearsal dates are from the first week of January till merging with main production. All Youth Theatre participants will be cast in “Oliver!” as children’s chorus, and will be able to audition for principle roles in that show. In addition, there will be a March/April presentation of the songs and dance from “Oliver!” for the public.

Tuition includes enrollment into our Youth Workshops, which can include subjects such as Theatre Tech/ Stage Management, Stage presence and Voice, Improvisation, and others. Workshops will be held November-March, dates and times to be determined.

We are also preparing for next summer’s “Encore!”, a theatre camp for 7-14 year olds. This week-long day camp will be held at Cedarcrest High School in late June. Stay tuned for more information.
