Cascade Community Theatre is proud to announce auditions for their Fall 2018 musical, Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka, the timeless story of the world-famous candy man and his quest to find an heir comes to chocolate-covered life.

Auditions

6:10-9 PM, Monday, August 20th – Wagner Performing Arts Center

6:10-9 PM, Tuesday, August 21st – Wagner Performing Arts Center

Callbacks:

6:10-9 PM, Friday, August 24th – Wagner Performing Arts Center

6:10-9 PM, Saturday, August 25th (as needed) – Wagner Performing Arts Center

Audition slots will be 15 minutes long, with a five-minute break in between.

Please bring/prepare:

  • A resume and a headshot (if available)
  • 16 bars of music (please bring a recording-USB stick preferred–of the background track) and be prepared to sing songs from the show
  • A short monologue (preferred) and/or please be prepared to cold read selected parts from the script

Please send an email to Willy Wonka – Auditions at willywonka-auditions@cctplays.org to request your slot.  We ask that you include your full name, email address, phone number, role preference (if applicable), and your top three time slot preferences.

Time slots are first come, first served.  We will do our best to accommodate your time slot request, but reserve the right to reschedule as necessary.  We will email confirmation of your audition slot time within 24 hours of receipt.

Our story’s shy, earnest protagonist. From a modest home life, he is humble and noncompetitive while maintaining a sense of wonder about the world. One of the Golden Ticket winners whose honesty and general good nature win Wonka over. 9 to 12

Grandpa Joe

Augustus Gloop

 

A gluttonous German boy. Cheerful and jolly, he defines himself by his ability to eat mass quantities of food. One of the Golden Ticket winners whose constant overeating is enabled and encouraged by Mrs. Gloop. 10 to 15 G4 B2
Mrs. Gloop

 

A plump, jolly german woman with a bustling personality. Augustus Gloop’s overindulgent mother. 35 to 45

Veruca Salt

 

A wealthy, spoiled Brit. She is accustomed to having her father indulge her every whim and desire. One of the Golden Ticket winners, she is subjected to the squirrels’ nut chute. 10 to 15 F5 G3
Mr. Salt

 

A wealthy British upperclassman who regularly flaunts his wealth and privilege. Father to Veruca Salt who shamelessly spoils his daughter. 40 to 60 E4 D3
Mike Teavee An obnoxious, hyperactive child addicted to television, video games, and the internet. One of the Golden Ticket winners and Ms. Teavee’s son. 9 to 12 G4 G2
Ms. Teavee An old-fashioned housewife. She is Mike Teavee’s permissive and clueless mother. 35 to 50 F5 B3
Violet Beauregarde A brassy girl with a competitive streak. Violet seizes every opportunity to show off. She turns into a giant blueberry. 9 to 12 F5 G3
Mrs. Beauregarde Violet’s enthusiastic “helicopter parent” who focuses all her attention on her daughter. She indulges Violet’s worst competitive impulses. 35 to 45 D5 D4
