A Gilbert & Sullivan Christmas Carol pairs the story of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol with clever new lyrics set to the famous Victorian melodies of Arthur Sullivan. \nFamiliar characters get fresh G&S-style introductions. Marley’s Ghost makes his entrance to the tune of the Major-General’s Song from The Pirates of Penzance\, and the three Christmas spirits get a number borrowed from The Mikado. Listen for favorites from H.M.S. Pinafore\, Iolanthe\, The Yeomen of the Guard\, and more. \nWritten and lyricized by Gayden Wren\, the show premiered in 1994 with the Gilbert & Sullivan Light Opera Company of Long Island. Community and light opera companies have since staged it from New York to Hawaii\, and this season it makes its Australian debut as well. \n“Extremely funny… sure to warm more than one cold heart.” (The New York Times) \nGood to Know\nFamily friendly: A lighthearted show for all ages\, with a cast that includes young performers.\nMatinees: Afternoon shows on both Saturdays and both Sundays\, a good fit for families with young kids.\nRun time: Approximately 2 hours\, including one intermission.\nGive the gift of theatre: Tickets make an easy holiday gift. \n\nBOOK & LYRICS BY: Gayden Wren\nMUSIC BY: Arthur Sullivan\nBASED ON: A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens\nDIRECTED BY: Mike Martinez\nMUSIC DIRECTION BY: Amy Oslund\nPRODUCED BY: Mike Martinez\n \n  \n \n\n\n\nPURCHASE TICKETS\n \n\n\nPURCHASE SEASON PASS
