SUMMARY:The Shawshank Redemption
DESCRIPTION:When Andy Dufresne is convicted of murder and sentenced to life in Shawshank prison\, he must use his wits and newly forged friendships\, namely a character known as Red\, but keeps himself and his hope alive. Over time Andy finds a way to live out life with as much relative ease as one can find in prison\, leaving a message for all that while the body may be locked away in a cell\, the spirit can never be truly imprisoned. But will he be able to survive the corruption and danger he faces within this notorious prison’s walls? Based on the novella by Stephen King and popularized by the highly acclaimed movie\, The Shawshank Redemption is a story of resilience and a theatrical experience like no other. \nBased on the 1994 movie\, this play is set in a maximum security prison and includes strong profanity\, violence\, suicidal ideation\, and a theatricalization of sexual assault.

SUMMARY:Disney's The Little Mermaid JR.
DESCRIPTION:Journey “under the sea” with Ariel and her aquatic friends in Disney’s The Little Mermaid JR.\, adapted from Disney’s Broadway production and the motion picture (featuring the enormously popular Academy Award-winning music and delightfully charming book and lyrics). Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen’s most beloved stories\, Disney’s The Little Mermaid JR. is an enchanting look at the sacrifices we all make for love and acceptance. \nIn a magical underwater kingdom\, the beautiful young mermaid\, Ariel\, longs to leave her ocean home — and her fins — behind and live in the world above. But first\, she’ll have to defy her father\, King Triton\, make a deal with the evil sea witch\, Ursula\, and convince the handsome Prince Eric that she’s the girl whose enchanting voice he’s been seeking. \nWritten to flow seamlessly between land and sea\, Disney’s The Little Mermaid JR. provides plenty of opportunities to bring these locations to life through creative movement and configurations. The fantasy of being underwater means your entire cast and crew can let their imaginations run wild.

Possible callbacks will be on the 27th if needed.\n\n\n \n\n\nA signup sheet is available here: https://tinyurl.com/MGLAuditions.\n\n\n \n\n\nRehearsals will start the first week in March and will be two evenings a week to start\, with an option to add a 3rd evening as we get closer to performance dates.\n\n\n \n\n\nPerformances are slated to take place in May on two weekends\, 4 shows each weekend (Friday and Saturday evenings\, Saturday and Sunday matinees). Tentatively May 9-10-11 and 16-17-18. We are hoping to perform in Duvall at a small\, intimate space\, with capacity of 40 to 50 patrons.\n\n\n \n\n\nPlease prepare a one minute monologue\, comedic or dramatic.\n\n\n \n\n\nShow Synopsis:\n\n\nMaking God Laugh follows one typical American family over the course of thirty years’ worth of holidays. Starting in 1980\, Ruthie and Bill’s grown children — a priest\, an aspiring actress\, and a former football star — all return home\, where we learn of their plans and dreams as they embark on their adult lives. The empty-nester parents contend with their own changes\, too\, as old family rituals are trotted out and ancient tensions flare up. As time passes\, the family discovers that\, despite what we may have in mind\, we often arrive at unexpected destinations.\n\n\n \n\n\nAs Woody Allen once said\, “If you want to make God laugh\, tell him your plans…”

SUMMARY:The Internet is Distract--Oh Look\, a Kitten! by Ian McWethy
DESCRIPTION:Cascade Community Theatre’s Youth Program presents a family-friendly comedy about the rabbit-hole of distractions we all face online…\n\n\n \nShowtimes (approximately 60 minutes):\nJune 9th at 6pm\nJune 10th at 2pm\n\n$5 Suggested donation\n\n \n\nMicah only has twenty minutes to finish her paper on The Great Gatsby. She just needs to check a few facts on the internet first. Unfortunately\, the web is a nefariously wacky place where boxing cats\, Facebook lurkers\, and pig-throwing games threaten to take over Micah’s schoolwork\, or worse. Will she finish her paper and escape with her life before the school bell rings?
